I knew as soon as I laid my eyes on this dress that I had to have it.  In my world, nothing is better than a white lace dress.  I knew that I could wear it to multiple occasions and that it would get a lot of use in my closet.  What took me off guard was this pink ostrich feather belt.  I knew as soon as I saw it that I loved it too, but I had absolutely no idea what I would ever wear it to, let alone what to pair it with.  I think that wearing pink feathers could certainly be viewed as fun and eccentric, but could possibly boarder on the line of gaudy if you catch my drift 😉

When I walked out to meet my photographer Paige for this shoot I told her that I think this was my most girly getup yet and that I really didn’t know what I would ever were this outfit to, but that I loved it!  She chimed back “You are reminding me of Cher from Clueless with that belt!”  Bam!  Day = made!

Needless to say, there are times in life where you will question pieces of clothing that you love.  I say go for it anyway!  If you absolutely love the piece you will find a way to make it work in your wardrobe.  Or even as home decor, just ask my friend Marina.  She has two funky colored stoles (linked here and here) that she absolutely loves and she has never had a reason to wear them (yet 🙂 ) but she drapes them over her bed and they pull together her room in a perfectly, imperfect way!  They simply make her happy and therefore make her bedroom look effortlessly chic.

Moral of the story is that you should follow your intuition and do what makes you feel most true to yourself and to your inner Carrie Bradshaw (insert personal style guru). And maybe this light and fluffy post is a metaphor that extends out into greater aspects of your life…  Or maybe that would be far too much cheese for you for one day 😉
