Something Blue

Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.

Two weekends ago Josh and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary!  We spent the day at the Shaky Knees Festival–  shoutout to my little bro who pulled some strings to get us the tickets as a slightly delayed, but still greatly appreciated wedding gift 😃. That morning we ate our wedding cake topper (which was surprisingly still delicious after spending a year in the depths of our freezer) and sipped some bubbly before heading to the festival.  If you haven’t been to Shaky Knees in Atlanta, I highly recommend it, we had a fantastic time!

It’s funny because a lot of people tend to ask “So, how did the first year of marriage go?”  And to that I smile and reply “It felt a lot like the years before!” That may sound disenchanting, and you may want to hear that the first year was like a honeymoon that never ended.  But to me, it felt the same as when we first started dating, which doesn’t feel that long ago by the way…  It totally was, we have been together for over 7 years!  Sometimes I look back and think ‘where has all of the time gone?’  It still feels like it was just yesterday that I met Josh.

I can’t put it into words (but here’s my attempt) how much his support means to me.  Last June I came to Josh and said “I have this crazy idea to start a blog” and to that he said “I think that’s a great idea, you should definitely do it!!”  He would never admit it but he is a big part of the behind the scenes operations of my tiny little corner of the internet.  He edits all of my posts and isn’t afraid to say “Hey, this sentence you wrote doesn’t even sound like English… Your tense is all over the place!”  I am so grateful for his support, tml wouldn’t be here today (even if I am only a few 28 posts and counting in 😉 ) without him!

And speaking of something blue, I am in love with this top.  My photographer Paige referred to it as the Princess Jasmine top, which I greatly appreciated as a Disney movie lover myself.  And the best part about it?  You don’t even have to wear a bra!  Yep!  There’s a bustier built in so you are all tucked in and taken care of- sold!

I hope you all have a great Memorial Day Weekend!  I will be in the mountains of South Carolina enjoying some sunshine and pool time.  Also, I have some exciting things coming up next month for tml’s 1st birthday so definitely stick around!!
